Almeley Green Group takes your privacy seriously. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law.

Who we are

Almeley Green Group is a not-for-profit community group based in Almeley Parish, Herefordshire. We are not a registered company. You can contact us at almeleygreengroup@gmail.com.

What information we collect

We collect personal information in three places on this site:

• Contact form — if you get in touch via the contact form, we collect your name and email address, along with the content of your message.
• Community Hub — if you submit a post to the Help, Swap, or Offers section, we collect the content of your post and the area you provide. We do not collect your name or email address for community posts.
• Nature sightings — if you share a sighting, we collect the details you provide including the sighting name, location, date, description, and any photo you upload.

We do not collect any information automatically. This site uses no tracking cookies, no advertising, and no third-party analytics that identify you personally. Basic anonymous visit data is collected by Cloudflare for site performance purposes only.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide solely for the purpose for which you submitted it:

• Contact messages are used only to respond to your enquiry
• Community Hub posts are displayed on the site to connect local residents
• Nature sightings are displayed on the Meer Common page to share wildlife records with the community

We do not use your information for marketing. We do not sell or share your information with any third party.

Where your information is stored

Information submitted through this site is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database service hosted in the European Union. Uploaded photos are stored in Supabase secure storage. No personal data is stored outside the EU.

How long we keep your information

• Contact messages are reviewed and deleted within six months of receipt
• Community Hub posts are removed when they are no longer relevant, or on request
• Nature sightings are kept as a long-term community record unless you ask us to remove yours

Your rights under UK GDPR

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
• Ask us to correct inaccurate information
• Ask us to delete your information
• Object to how we are using your information

Third-party services

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process basic request data such as IP addresses for security and performance purposes.

This site uses Google Fonts to load typefaces. Google may log basic request data when fonts are loaded.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted on this page. We will note the date it was last updated below.
